Internet Addiction Recovery
In the 1990s, the Internet was made increasingly available to households via dial-up modems hooked up
to phone lines. Most people use much faster connections now. Additionally, we connect to the internet
from handheld personal devices we refer to as cell phones (or phones). Most of us have social media accounts, too.
There is no longer a need for television as a form of entertainment or newspapers to receive the news.
We find all the news and entertainment we need via the 'net.
But what happens when the internet consumes our lives and we become addicted?
We need to take a step back and obtain a sense of balance between the technology we use and the lives we live.
Recovery begins with attending a meeting or talking to a counselor/peer support specialist.
