PCP Recovery

PCP, or Phencyclidine, is considered to be a hallucinogen. Although not nearly as popular as it was in the 1980s, the effects are still detrimental.

Such effects include feeling detached from ones self, slurred speech, loss of coordination, and increased heart rate / blood pressure.

Recovery begins with attending a support group meeting or talking to a counselor/peer support specialist.

Support groups:

Narcotic Anonymous
Dual Recovery Anonymous
Secular Organizations for Sobriety
SMART Recovery
LifeRing Secular Recovery

Success begins with lifestyle changes

To break free from a PCP addiction, counseling is required along with avoiding certain situations and developing new coping skills (meditation, relaxation).

It is important to remember

PCP is a highly potent drug that causes serious consequences to your physical and mental health.
